Skills Coaching: Mountain, Road, Unicycle, Backcountry
Any skill can be learned by trial and error, but haven't
you found it is usually faster and easier to have someone show you
how it's done?
The
Cycologist has developed programs to help you handle your bike better
whether you are a first timer or an experienced rider who is ready to
move to the next level. Mountain Bike instruction makes your riding
more fun by enabling you to ride increasingly technical terrain with confidence.
This is achieved by teaching you to conserve energy and ride with better
technique and finesse.
All of the following skills courses are available on a Private, Semi-Private
or group basis. The Cycologist guarantees results! If you don't
feel that your mountain biking skills are improved after our instruction
we will refund your money.
Beginner
If you are new to mountain biking or if you feel like you are walking
your bike more than riding it, the Beginner Skills Clinic is just what
the doctor ordered. Topics covered in this course include: equipment selection,
using your brakes and gears to your advantage, effective climbing and
descending techniques, and getting over obstacles
Intermediate
You've been riding mountain bikes for a couple of years now and
you trail ride enough to know there are skills you would like to improve.
You're not alone! This, our most popular course, entails: conquering
steep hills – both up and down, navigating switchbacks, wheelies,
manuals, bunny-hops, track stands, no-handed riding and how to use these
skills on the trail to increase your speed and finesse.
Advanced
Your friends think you're sick but you're ready to learn
the techniques to try more! This course will enable you to learn trials
skills, help you increase the altitude of your jumps and drop-offs, find
lines down the sickest descents, and climb stuff that other people won't
ride down!
Youth
This course covers all the same skills as our beginner clinic but is
geared for youth ages 10-17. Although not required, it is fun when parents
attend the clinic with their children.
